What The Future Holds

In this clip from an interview for the 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗔𝘁 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 podcast, Jeanie Coomber asked me what the future holds and how we help organizations deal with that future.

Boy, I could make a lot of money if I could predict the future!

Here is what I do know about the future.

① Life is short, and change is happening ever faster.

② Organizations no longer get a pass on social issues.

③ People, especially Millennials and Gen Z’s, want to work for purpose-driven organizations.

④ Leadership is required.  Mandating your way through these issues will not work.

⑤ “𝘗𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘍𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵…𝘔𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘈𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴” means leaders must figure out and navigate how to balance what is good for their people with what is good for their customers and what is good for the business.

Those who work that equation backward will struggle to engage and retain talent, and they will have a lesser capacity for #change.
