There Are No Privacy Laws Against Listening

The School For Startups podcast host, Jim Beach, recently asked me this question.

“In your book, The Dying Art of Leadership, you advise leaders to engage in discussion with their employees regarding their emotional trauma or grief.  How do you do that without violating any privacy laws?”

This is a great question.  Compassionate leaders seem to constantly have to struggle with the balance between caring and privacy.

In short, the answer was that there are no laws against listening.
