What’s Grief Got To Do With It?

Have you, or are you experiencing any of the following?

Difficulty concentrating

Trouble processing information

Emotional outbursts

Hyper-activity

Overwhelmed with decisions

If so, you may be labeled as a performance issue or an underperformer.

Neither may be true.

Grief comes in all shapes and sizes, and it often presents itself as something different.

Show me someone exhibiting these behaviors, and I’ll show you someone who has experienced a traumatic event significant enough to alter their sense of reality.

That traumatic event could be increased workload or work hours.

It could be the result of trying to digest organizational change or a new boss with a leadership style that doesn’t align with the needs of the individual.

It could be from a significant illness diagnosis of a family member or a death in the family.

Whatever the cause, the elephant in the room has a name, and it is 𝙂𝙍𝙄𝙀𝙁.

Watch as my brother, Guy, talks about how grief plays out in the workplace and what behaviors may tip leaders off to employ the principles of our book, 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘿𝙮𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘼𝙧𝙩 𝙊𝙛 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥.
